Aside from the bride and groom, one of the most important people at your wedding is your photographer. They are there for everything from your first kiss to the fun and festivities after the ceremony. Make sure you budget for a really good photographer, preferably one that has been recommended and that has a great portfolio. Here are some great places to have your wedding pictures taken in Kildare;
We’ll start with an obvious one, the place you will spend most of your time on your wedding day. The Osprey Hotel is a beautiful setting for an urban wedding and the function room can be customised to suit your theme and style. The lobby area is perfect for a reception and group picture and the rooms are spacious enough for the ‘getting ready’ pictures. The hotel is stylish and modern, ideal for indoor wedding pictures, especially if our unreliable Irish weather lives up to its name!
You don’t have to be an equestrian master to appreciate the beauty of nature in the National Stud. There is an air of peace and tranquillity in the gardens, ideal for a photographer to create some really stunning nature- inspired scenes. Enjoy the rolling hills and greenery and you may be lucky enough to get some pictures with their award-winning horses.
The Japanese Gardens
Located inside the national stud, Irelands first Japanese Gardens are a bright and colourful place for wedding pictures with some creative flair. The gardens are filled with trees, plants, flowers, lawns, rocks and water and the seamless mixture of Eastern and Western cultures make this a great alternative location for wedding snaps.
St. Fiachra’s Garden
Another beautiful location for pictures, also in the National Stud is St. Fiachra’s Garden. Designed in 1999, the garden is a tribute to St. Fiachra, the patron saint of gardeners and seeks to capture the beauty and power of the Irish landscape in its rawest form. The garden is a tribute to St Fiachra’s love of water, stone and nature – perfect for an outdoor photoshoot.
St Brigid’s Cathedral
The cathedral lies in the heart of Kildare town and is ideal for indoor and outdoor pictures, depending on the weather. Built in 1223, it is said that the site is where St Brigid, one of Irelands Patron Saints, founded a nunnery in the 5th century. Built using Gothic-style architecture, the iconic cathedral is adorned with many early-Christian carvings, a high cross and a beautiful stained glass window which would make for a really unique and colourful wedding picture. Outside stands the second highest Round Tower in Ireland, which you can enter and take some fantastic pictures of the surrounding area.
For a modern and stylish wedding, with easy access to all of these beautiful photoshoot locations, consider Osprey Hotel for your big day.
